Gene Koutras is a Melbourne based rock/blues vocalist/guitarist who is currently studying her advanced diploma of music at Melbourne Polytechnic. "Always tells a story, with both her vocals and guitar" is how bandmates best describe her.
Drawing from female powerhouse vocalists such as Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks, and Grace Slick as well as the legendary male voices of Robert Plant and Jim Morrison, Gene surely creates psychadelic vibes vocally with her eerie crooning tone and stage presence.
Having played guitar for over 10 years, Gene is also the lead guitarist in the stoner rock band 'Monarchus' who is currently recording their EP. She is hoping to write new material and play festivals such as 'Bluesfest' and 'Boogie Festival' with her band early next year.
